Leipzig: rapist abused woman for two hours – police are looking for a young man

Shortly after a young woman got off a tram in Leipzig, she was raped several times. The police are asking the public for help and have published photos of the alleged perpetrator.

The Leipzig police are looking for a rapist: As the officials announced on Thursday, the man sexually assaulted a young woman several times last Saturday (January 29).

The 20-year-old boarded a tram on line 16 at Leipzig Central Station around 9:30 p.m., as did the suspect. Four stops later, at the Eutritzscher Zentrum, she got out. According to the police, the man followed her, threatened her and attacked her.

Leipzig police: The perpetrator only let go of the woman after two hours

"Several forced sexual acts followed," the police report said. The man had the 20-year-old in his power for around two hours. It was not until around 11:30 p.m. that he left her at the "Apfelstrasse" stop on Berliner Strasse, about one and a half kilometers from the center of Eutritz, and left in an unknown direction.

The police do not want to say exactly how the man threatened the woman, where exactly the assault took place and what he did to her in the two hours. Except that rape is being investigated and it happened "in the Eutritzsch area".

Investigators are looking for a man in his early 20s: photos on the police website

The police are asking the public for help with the search: according to the published description, the perpetrator is apparently in his early 20s, around 170 centimeters tall and slim. The police published photos of the man on the Internet, but pointed out that according to the judge's decision, online media were not allowed to use them for this search. t-online adheres to this requirement and instead links to the police website where the man's photos can be seen.

The images come from cameras on the tram. They show a man dressed in dark with a hood over his head. He wears a dark surgical mouth and nose protector, a black jacket with white zippers on the pockets, gray assembly gloves, dark trousers and dark shoes, and a dark backpack.

The police ask: Who knows this man? Who knows where he hangs out regularly? Who can give information about him or the crime? Who made any noticeable observations in Eutritzsch on Saturday evening during the period mentioned? Witnesses are asked to contact the criminal police on 0341/ 966 4 6666.
