New ARD theme world: Learning with lots of short videos

The new ARD theme world "Learning" offers explanatory films for school subjects such as biology, German, geography and math. Children can become active themselves.

Can water flow upwards? How did you become a gladiator in Rome? And how does fake news spread online? The new ARD theme world “Learning” is about such questions and much more. Here, students will find many short films sorted by subjects and topics. The new offer is intended to make people want to learn. More and more videos are to be added.

telescopes and super-ears

In the biology subject, for example, it is about salamanders, alpine sheep and the forest. Chemistry explains how alcohol gets into beer, what the states of aggregation are and why hydrogen is a beacon of hope. And physics is about speed, telescopes and super ears.

Other subjects offered are social studies, politics, economics and history. You will also find exciting topics there. Would voting at 16 change politics? Where are the sports shoes actually made that we all love to wear? And how does our financial system work?

Neue ARD-Themenwelt: Lernen mit vielen kurzen Videos

The poet Georg Büchner introduces himself in German and you will learn what poetry is and what types of journalistic texts there are. In English you will learn subtle differences between American and British English and in Geography you will virtually travel to the cities of Madrid and Tel Aviv. There are also math videos.

The ancient Romans have their own area: "The Roman Experiment". How did the Romans live? In many short videos you can search for traces of the Roman heritage in the former Germanic provinces.

In addition to the small learning videos, which are between three and 30 minutes long, you will find even more in the new ARD theme world "Learning". There are also explanatory clips for all ages, for example with Elli and the Cosmo computer mouse.

Finally, you can also use interactive educational games and simulations. Explore a beehive, make your own radio play or fly into space with the moon mission!
