Jogging: where to put the house key?

Of course, one option would be not to go jogging at all. No activity outside the home means no burden from the house key. However, especially after the Christmas holidays and the turn of the year, the motivation to get rid of accumulated pounds as quickly as possible is great. Many people are driven to the nearest gym, while others prefer to exercise in the fresh air. Jogging is one of the most popular ways to exercise. Because running not only burns a lot of calories, it also improves mental health and the immune system. Once you've gotten yourself up to go jogging and found the right outfit, there's only one question that needs to be answered. Where to put the house key?

The simple key trick for running

While some joggers are lucky enough to have someone at home who opens all their doors for them, others need to hold the key in their hand at all times. The impractical but necessary accessory is annoying and jingles. But there is the perfect solution to the small problem: the shoelace trick. Here explained in two pictures, the shoes are the ideal place to stow away the key without any problems. If the knots are well tightened, 99 percent of the time the key cannot be lost.

The shoelace trick is very simple. First you thread a shoelace out of the top eyelet, which means that there are two laces on one side. Then you thread the key back into the lace you just removed. Then steps three and four follow.

Shoelace trick: shoes as the perfect place for the key

Now the shoelace is pulled back through the eyelet. The key should be held tight so that it cannot slip into the interior of the shoe. In the last step, the shoe can be laced normally. Even more security is achieved by threading the key through several cords and tying a double knot at the end. Should the straps come loose, the key cannot be lost because it was threaded in before the eyelet. It is advisable not to place the wrench entirely on the instep, but slightly to the side. When used correctly, the key sits securely in place. Nothing stands in the way of an extended running session.

When the shoe pinches: key trick has to be tried

You don't always have to carry only one key with you. If you have to leave the house with two keys, you can thread the second key into the other shoe. This also ensures stability. Depending on the running shoe and the size of the wrench, uncomfortable pressure points can occur when running. In this case, you should vary the position of the key and check where exactly the shoe pinches.

There are a few things to consider when jogging and doing sports in general. If you only find time for the training session in the evening, the risk of sleep problems can increase after a certain time. Only a few sports are suitable for the evening hours. Especially in the winter months, sport can drive away the winter blues. Consciously taking time out can work wonders. (ale)
