Czech Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova will have to do without her German coach Sascha Bajin at the US Open. The 36-year-old has not received a visa to enter the United States.

Visa overdrawn - Sascha Bajin is not allowed to the US Open

"Sascha Bajin tried for a long time to get a visa but failed," said Pliskova's husband and manager Michal Hrdlicka in a statement on her website: "During the pandemic last year, Sascha stayed longer in the United States than he should have stayed." Bajin owns a house in Florida and didn't want to travel as much, Hrdlicka said.

The authorities did not give him the green light for New York. Pliskova is looked after by the Czech Leos Friedl at the Grand Slam tournament. To kick things off, the 2016 finalist plays Cathy McNally.
