Fashion no-go: You should never combine these shoe models with jeans

Jeans always work - there's no arguing about that. Which shoes really go well with denim pants, but about that. Because some shoe models look unflattering with certain jeans styles and do not cut the best figure. So that you don't make these styling mistakes in the future, we'll tell you below which (sometimes surprising!) no-go combinations there are.

Fashion no-go: You should NOT wear these shoes with jeans

Fashion no-go no. 1: skinny jeans + boots

The first surprise right at the beginning, because the popular styling duo of skinny jeans and high boots is actually a real no-go! Namely, when the tight-fitting jeans and boots are of different colors, an ugly contrast arises that practically cuts off your legs and makes you look "squashed". The combination of trousers with a light wash and dark, knee-high boots or overknees is particularly disadvantageous. The exceptions: boots with a wide shaft à la rubber boots that are not tight at the calf height, as well as a monochrome look, such as black boots with dark jeans.

Fashion no-go no. 2: Flared jeans + chunky sneakers

Jeans with flared legs, or flared jeans, can basically be worn with all sorts of shoes, as the cut always stretches the legs a little - and who doesn't want to cheat a few centimeters? However, flared jeans with chunky sneakers don’t work quite as well: Although shoes with coarse soles are absolutely trendy, they are not the most suitable fashion partner for flared pants, since the chunky shape of the sneakers makes the legs appear fuller and shorter – and so on negate the virtues of flared trousers.

Fashion no-go #3: culottes + round flats

Culottes and rounded flats are not a flattering fashion duo. The roomier, cropped denim pants tend to shorten the silhouette and yes, add some bulk. That's why she needs a fashionable opponent who provides length and optically stretches the legs. Flats with round toes can look very chic, but they do nothing for the figure in combination with culottes.

Fashion no-go no. 4: baggy jeans + ballerinas

The absolute jeans trends for 2021 clearly include baggy pants and loose-fit jeans. And although you can't go wrong with the loosely cut pants this year, there is one shoe model that you shouldn't wear with them: ballerinas. The volume of the jeans paired with the dainty ballet flats makes the legs appear shorter and you smaller - an unfavorable look.

Fashion No-Go No. 5: Straight Leg Jeans + Round Pumps

Ok, we might not write off this combination as a complete “no-go”, but with some jeans styles there are shoe models that are better suited. Pumps with round toe caps, for example, don't exactly make feet look dainty, but rather clumsy. In combination with straight leg jeans, which are usually a bit longer and looser, the look appears coarse and not very elegant. Therefore, you should rely on other possible combinations for both.
