Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they like the Nintendo 64 shoes. (All 3 image sources: Nike)

There have already been shoes in the Game of Thrones design, in the Dragon Ball design, in the Pokémon design or in the NES look. And the world of video games seems to remain a source of inspiration for sneaker designers in the future.

Because Nike is releasing a new variant of the Air Max 97 model and its appearance was obviously based on the Nintendo 64. Nike doesn't officially name Nintendo as a partner, so these aren't licensed N64 sneakers, but it's hard to miss the allusions to the '90s gaming console.

Power and reset buttons are of course part of the Nintendo 64 design. There is also a Nike logo in the shoe, which was based on the stamp of the ESRB (the American USK).

On the one hand, the coloring contributes to this, which is primarily made up of the gray of the actual console and the four button colors green, yellow, blue and red. There are also two power and reset "buttons" on the tongue of the shoe and the Air Max logo in the round Nintendo style is on the heel. The allusions to the N64 could hardly be much clearer.

When does the fun come out and how much should the shoes cost? The Nintendo 64 kickers do not yet have an exact release date, but they are said to be released in summer 2019. A pair is said to cost $160 in the Nike store, so it won't be cheap if you want to express your love for the N64 through your feet as well.

The Air Max logo on the heels of the shoes comes with the rounded border like the Nintendo logo.
