Inlineskates pioneers are roller skates that were already patented in 1863.The difference is essentially in the arrangement of the bikes: While two wheels are lying next to each other under the classic roller skates, these are arranged for the inliners in a row (i.e. along the other, hence the derived name from the English "in-line")).Due to the increasing interest of the trend sport, there are now many different models, for example inline skates with soft or hard shoes, large or small rolls. What the different variants mean, which accessories are important for beginners and how to learn to drive inline in no time is summarized in this article.

Inline skates differ in it

In the meantime there is a large selection of inline skates from well -known manufacturers such as K2, scooter blade, USD and Powerslide that differ from each other as follows:

Another note on the roles: Depending on which inline skates you choose, they can be different in size or arranged. It is important for beginners to know that larger roles are more difficult to control than small. The degree of hardness is also not to be ignored, since hard rollers wear more slowly than soft - but still should not be the first choice for beginners because they offer less comfort.

Purchase tips: You have to pay attention to that

If you are interested in a new couple inline skates, you shouldn't just pay attention to the size.Rather, the shaft height, the length of the rails and the size of the roles are important.Regardless of whether you want to buy a model for women, men or children:

Accessories: How to protect yourself correctly

If you have never or only rarely drive inliner, you should protect yourself from possible falls. The best way to do this is by wearing hand, knee and elbow sauces- these are available from Decathlon as a set for adults and children. The basic equipment should also be part of a skate..Here, too, there are suitable models for large and small skaters that can be set individually.

Learn to drive inliner: This is how it works

If possible, you should take the first attempts on a smooth and paved route without potholes or cracks. For example in an empty parking lot or a little busy streets in the industrial area.Be sure to avoid streets with light slopes at the beginning so that you do not roll off automatically and uncontrollably. It is also advisable to take the first steps with a second person - or you are looking for a wall where you can hang along.Never underestimate the speed you absorb during the speed. The following tips should be a little help at the inliner:

1.Learn your legs side by side so that you have a safe stand on the inline skates and bend your knees easily. To drive off, you have to put one leg back so that you can pull yourself off the floor. As soon as you roll off, shift your body weight to the other leg - as with ice skating, if you master it.To get forward, shift each step slightly to the front while you are pulling out of the floor with your feet.If you get going slowly, you can put your legs side by side while rolling.

2.Master curves

Curves are a challenge, especially for novice drivers. To master this too, you can use different tricks:

3.Brakes practice if you want to learn to drive inliner, you should control the art of braking. To do this, either use the stopper on the heel of your shoes by relocating your weight on your mainstay (i.e. the stronger leg) and pressing the block onto the floor at the same time.Or they lean on their pillar and place their other leg across the direction of travel - this makes them form a kind of T and come to a standstill.Alternatively, you can also make the "snow plow", as when skiing by putting your feet together so that you are similar to an upside down V.

4.Falling properly falls to be learned: the more targeted you can do the falls, the fewer injuries you can carry away from it.It is best to use a mattress on which you can practice the right falling - by falling with your knees and trying to rotate in such a way that you land on your side or on your back. This protects your arms and hands, but also neck or head from serious injuries. If you still fall on your knees or wrists, the joint protectors dampen the fall.

Regulations: The ADAC says that

According to the ADAC, inline skaters and pedestrians are treated, i.e. they should drive on the sidewalk. This means in plain language: you have to adapt the speed to your environment accordingly. If there are no pedestrian paths, you can skate within a town on the right or left as close as possible to the edge of the roadway. In principle, however, roads and bike paths are prohibited for inliners - unless the police are released by the police as part of an event (for example skate or blade nights).

Since 2009 there has been another exception that the ADAC describes as follows: "With a new additional sign, the inline skating can exceptionally be approved on sufficient wide bike paths. If you skate there, you have to move with extreme caution and with special consideration for the rest of the traffic on the right edge in the direction of travel and must enable cyclists to overtake."

And another important note: Even if there is no statutory helmet or protective equipment obligation for inline skaters in Germany, it is still advisable to protect your body with the help of a collapse, especially for beginners.
